Dear Dumari,
"Happy St.
Valentine's!"
said my boys as they
handed me a heart
that said, "Mommy, I
love you!" At
that moment I felt
very loved and
appreciated.
Mmmm, it felt good!
Do you often
experience intense
emotions as a
parent? If you
are a parent, my
guess is that you
said, "Yes!"
I have been
reflecting on the
power of emotions
lately. Parenting
has given me the
opportunity to
experience very
intense emotions. To
be honest, before
being a parent I
didn't realize I
could feel so
intensely!
Some of these
emotions have felt
good, like feeling
loved and loving,
appreciated and
appreciative, proud,
hopeful, excited and
inspired.
I've also
experienced emotions
that have felt bad,
like feeling angry,
confused,
dissapointed, sad,
guilty, concerned,
and overwhelmed.
I have come to
understand that
negative emotions
are a powerful
catalyst for change.
They let me know
when there is
something I do not
desire in my reality
so that I can take
the necessary steps
to change it.
I've also noticed
that when I
experience intense
negative emotions it
is more challenging
for me to connect
with my heart and
higher wisdom in
order to create the
positive change I
desire.
This is one
reason I am so
thankful to have
discovered the
Emotional Freedom
Technique (EFT).
This month's
featured article,
"EFT, Emotional
Freedom for Parents"
shows you how
you can use this
powerful tool to
help you release the
negative emotions
that are holding you
back from parenting
in a centered and
loving way.
This eNewsletter
is also packed with
resources to empower
you as a parent.
