About Dumari

Dumari Dancoes is a Life & Family Coach and the founder of Children Lights. 

Her desire to help humanity, especially families, led her to become a Certified Family/Parent Coach.

Dumari is an ANGEL THERAPY PRACTITIONER® certified by Doreen Virtue, PhD, best selling author of Divine Guidance, The Crystal Children and The Care & Feeding of Indigo Children, and has worked as  volunteer supporting staff during recent ATP® trainings.  Her intuitive insights have helped many people, especially parents, gain clarity and hope.

Dumari's journey in search for empowerment tools has led her to receive training in the Human Design System, the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), hypnotherapy, Reiki and other coaching tools.

Inspired by her vision to help create a supportive and positive environment for both parents and children, Dumari started the Hillsborough County, New Hampshire chapter of the Holistic Moms Network, a national non-profit support and educational resource for parents with a focus on natural health and mindful parenting.  For more information on HMN, visit www.holisticmoms.org. 

Dumari holds a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College.  She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and is bilingual in Spanish/English. 

Dumari and her husband reside in Southern New Hampshire with their two sons, ages 9 and 7.

Dumari's Story

I am the mom of two energetic and spirited children.  In 2002, when my oldest son was 1 ½ and my youngest one was 6 months, I knew I needed help with my parenting skills!

I was a stay-at-home mom with two little ones and it was not pleasant (to say the least) being at home.  My home felt like a war-zone where I had to be on “alert” 24/7. 

One of my biggest challenges was that my oldest son was unhappy with his brother’s new mobility and mere presence.  I could not leave them alone in the same room for even one minute because I was afraid my youngest one would get hurt.

My parenting and discipline methods were ineffective.  My children did not listen to me.  My patience was low; my stress was high.  I found myself overwhelmed, tired, feeling inadequate and unsupported.

My well-meaning family members and friends offered me parenting advice, but “tough love” and bribing methods didn’t feel right to me.  However, what I was doing wasn’t working either.  I cried in desperation.  I prayed for help!

It was in that moment that I decided to start my search for a parenting solution that felt right to my heart.

I read many books and attended workshops on parenting, self-help, spirituality and manifesting.  I immediately began testing the ideas and strategies I was learning in the perfect environment:  my own family!

I gained insights as to which tools worked and which ones didn’t.  My own children were teaching me which was the most effective way to parent them!

My home environment changed from a war-zone to a team-zone.  My children now listened to me and I gained their cooperation in a harmonious way.  They trusted that their needs and desires were important to me and we worked together so that everyone’s needs were met, including mine!

I also learned tools like the Emotional Freedom Technique, which helps me stay calm so that I can follow through with discipline that is loving and kind.

In 2004, I decided to get really good with these tools that resonated with me.  I became a Family/Parent Coach specializing in Indigo Children and a Certified Parent Educator with the International Network for Children & Families.  I also got certified as an Angel Therapy Practitioner® by Dr. Doreen Virtue.

I soon discovered that my purpose and joy was to share with others the tools that had helped me so that they too could transform their parenting challenges into their most cherished blessings, just like I had!

The challenges I’ve experienced at home have given me the greatest opportunities to discover my inner power and wisdom, which I can access through my heart. 

My children continue to present me with challenges.  I have learned that from a spiritual perspective, these challenges are gifts that are helping me fulfill my life purpose.

My children present me with challenges; I figure out how to overcome these challenges; I share these solutions with you!

I know that if I have successfully overcome my parenting challenges,  then you can do it too!  I can’t wait to show you how!
